Peer Support Program Coordinator

Part-time, casual: Up to 21 hours per week.

About Us:

Since 1925, Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Community College Inc (HKCC) has been providing education and training to adult learners to qualify for better employment opportunities, personal growth, wellbeing and the advancement of community values.

As a successful recipient of the NDIA's Peer Support and Capacity Building grant, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to help deliver and coordinate the self-advocacy program over the next two years.

This casual, part-time role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by coordinating engaging programs, fostering connections, and managing key administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, organise, and coordinate suitable activities that align with program goals.
  • Source and engage guest speakers from advocacy and community services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with program participants and community organisations.
  • Network with relevant stakeholders to establish partnerships that support program success.
  • Administer the grant, including reporting, compliance, and documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of the program.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive and creative approach to developing program activities.
  • Experience in community engagement, advocacy, disability services and program coordination.
  • Familiarity with grant administration and reporting processes (desirable).
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.

Seeking Trainer and Assessor

We are seeking a casual, qualified Trainer and Assessor to deliver and/or assess the unit HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication, with potential opportunities to train in other CHC courses. Applicants must be a Registered or Enrolled Nurse or a Registered Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner and hold the TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).

Job vacancy: Trainer and Assessor

If you are a qualified trainer and assessor in:  

  • Foundation Skills
  • Business 
  • Individual Support

we'd like to hear from you. 

To be considered for a position, you need to have a passion for working with disadvantaged students and be community minded, with the following credentials.

1.       Holder of TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and

2.       Relevant vocational competencies (or qualification) at least to the level being delivered & assessed, and

3.       Demonstrated current industry skills directly relevant to the training & assessment (T&A), including any specific certification or licensing requirements, and

4.       Continuous professional development and improvements on

a)     VET sector knowledge and skills

b)     the relevant vocation/occupation/relevant industry

c)      T&A knowledge and skills.

Assessors for Foundation Skills must have all the following or equivalent.

1.       TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

2.       Sound knowledge of the ACSF and performance features of the ACSF level being assessed

3.       Demonstrable expertise, knowledge and skills in the vocational contextualisation and assessment of the core skill

4.       TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set; or

Higher-level education qualification, such as

a)       TAE80113 Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice (and its equivalent TAE70111); or

b)       Bachelor of Education, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Education, or higher. This may include qualifications relating to TESOL, adult education or vocational education.
